my last week in Utrecht was the best it could possibly be…while being really sad. There were tons of goodbye parties, and just the idea of goodbye parties are sad. I had my one final for History of Economic Thought on tuesday. i thought it was pretty difficult, but i think i did pretty well. We also had a group paper due that day. since my group rocked it was pretty easy to get 20 pages done.
on wednesday i went into Amsterdam with Aliisa. the main goal was for me to drop off all my luggage at Sheilas apartment. and it was also aliisas lasst time in amsterdam. after carrying up all my luggage up two flights of narrow winding stairs, me and aliisa roamed around amsterdam all day. it was my last full day with her. it was a really good day. we also went to the albert cuyp market..which ended up being a lot better this time around. maybe its because i was shopping with a girl.
thursday morning we all woke up really early because david and lucia were leaving at 8am. so they woke up the whole apartment at 7 to have some coffee and breakfast. it was really hard to say goodbye to them. i love both of them so much.
i had a few hours left in utrecht. i packed my back pack, sold my bike for 20 euros!!!!!! and then trent and aliisa walked me to the bus stop. it wasnt sad to say goodbye to trent because i will see him in budapest in a week. It was really hard to say goodbye to aliisa. as the bus came we both started crying. we got really close the last few months. we didnt really start the semester as friends..but at some point early on we got really close. we were basically best friends the past 4 months. i was actually shocked she cried too because she is pretty good at hiding her emotions.
that was the hardest goodbye. during all the goodbye parties i would pretty much avoid everyone as i was leaving so i didnt need to say goodbye. i didnt really want to start crying at a party..even though many people were.
it was really sad to leave utrecht. i will definitely miss it and all the people i lived here with the past 5 months.
i love utrecht. i will def visit in the future. it just wont be the same.
now off to rome, venice, budapest, and dubrovnik
